Hi. I'm Jennie.
This is my weekly column about the new life we are trying in the Caribbean. My little family and I have swapped a snowy ski resort in French Switzerland for a beach life in Antigua.
With this great lifestyle change, I am making a few personal changes too. I am implementing some routines that have long been in the back of my mind and there really is no time like the present to make them a part of my life.
Having children changes you. Sometimes it is hard to remember the carefree days in the past. My role as Mummy comes first and foremost to me - being a good wife is tangled in this and is something I need to think about each day. Children look to their parents as models. To see a loving and happy couple can be no greater gift.
Like Charlotte in 'Sex and the City', I would like to be happy every single day. Even if not for all of the day, but aat least part of the day.
For me, the key parts to this are discipline, organisation, routine and mindfulness.
My daily mantra is 'Discipline is the cornerstone of freedom'. Creativity does not fall into your lap, it comes from daily practise, good food that nourishes your soul, rest, friendships and inspiration from your surroundings.
Here in a little Caribbean island, the pace of life is slower than in my French home in Europe, the sea wind is blowing in my hair and I wake early with the sun and eat fresh papaya with lime.
Life is good and I am loving it.
Thank you for reading, your time is precious.
Bisous x
PS. All photos, unless stated otherwise, are taken by me. These are all just fun memories, as I am not a photographer. However, if you deem any worthwhile to share, borrow or otherwise, then kindly link back to this blog.
PPS. If you would like to see what I am up to elsewhere, I would love to connect on Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.
Having done very similar I am intrigued as to how it all went and I love the blog ! Good Luck
